Advanced Technological Production of Nano Fertilizers and Nano Pesticides
Chemical pesticides and fertilizers play a crucial role as inputs in the agricultural production process. In terms of food security, they are intricately linked to the well-being of a nation. To address the issues arising from the excessive utilization of these two resources and to improve the effectiveness of their usage, the Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute has introduced the "technological production of nano fertilizers and pesticides" mega project as part of their nanotechnology research. The primary objective of this initiative is to boost crop production and augment the income of farmers. Nanotechnology has demonstrated its ability to promote sustainable agriculture through the development of fertilizers and pesticides that possess advantageous characteristics like controlled release and smart chemical delivery. These attributes enable the fertilizers and pesticides to be administered in the appropriate quantity, at the precise time and location, thereby enhancing plant nutrition, optimizing nutrient utilization, enhancing soil fertility, effectively managing pests, and ultimately boosting crop yield and product quality.
