This department has been established for scientific and technical support for other
departments of the institute.
The department is responsible for:
- Establishment, Maintenance and providing Internet and Intranet services
to researchers and other institutes
- Managing institute library, supplying books and publications, data
banks, construction of data banks on the Intranet
- Short and long term training courses in the field of agricultural biotechnology,
locally and internationally
- Publishing ABRII newsletter, the institute's monthly newsletter about
the science and happenings at the institute. The newsletter features stories about
recent institute events, agricultural biotechnology news and more
- Study of the ethical, cultural, religious and economical aspects of
application of biotechnology in agriculture
- Economical studies and monitoring of ongoing research projects in the
area of agricultural biotechnology
- Providing total solution systems with MIS feature
- Administering the ABRII's network
- Short term training courses in computer sciences, internet resources
and data bases
- Statistical consultation and cooperation with researchers in designing
experiments, data analysis and interpretation
