The Schizosaccharmyces pombe pac-1 gene product is a kind of dsRNA dependent ribonuclease, which has potential to degrade the dsRNA viral genome, the replication form of ssRNA viral genome and viroid genome. The pac-1 gene from the S. pmobe, strain FY7 h-972 genomic DNA was cloned by using of polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Amplified sequence was cloned in Nco I restriction endonuclease site of pCAMBIA 3301 expression vector after sequencing and confirmation of 100% similarity with reported sequence for pac-1 gene on data bank. Transformation of immature wheat embryo with this construct is being conducted by microprojectile bombardment for enhancement of multi viral resistance.
