Diversity and conservation genetics of Iranian pomegranate are studied using morphological traits and DNA markers (AFLP and isolated SSR markers). 800 cultivars and wild types genotypes, originated from in Iran, are phenotyped and genotyped. The phenotypic data are recorded based on a common morphological descriptor. Phenotypic and genotypic data are integrated as Iranian pomegranate data bank.
