This meeting was held following the visit of Venezuela’s Vice President, Dr. Gabriela Jimenez, and the head of the Venezuelan Institute of Scientific Research (IVIC), Dr. Alberto José Quintero on August 2022, and the visit of a delegation of Venezuelan researchers to the ABRII on November 2022.

After introducing both sides' attendees and research activities, Dr. Quintero expressed his interest in expanding research collaborations with the ABRII and exchanging researchers as internships. He requested to send a number of researchers to ABRII for training in microbiology, systems biology, nanotechnology, tissue culture, and genetic engineering. Dr. Ghasemi pointed out that the ABRII and Agricultural Research, Education, and Extension Organization (AREEO) welcome the expansion of international scientific cooperation. In this regard, along with the continuation of online meetings with Venezuelan colleagues, a memorandum of understanding will be drafted.
