The 18th Human Proteome Organization World Congress - HUPO 2019, Adelaide, Australia

The 18th Human Proteome Organization World Congress - HUPO 2019 was hosted by the Australasian Proteomics Society (APS) in the beautiful ‘City of Churches’, Adelaide. Professor Ghasem Hosseini Salekdeh, Deputy Director General for Research, Agricultural Biotechnology Research Institute of Iran (ABRII), was invited to give a lecture in a session on “Plant and Crop Proteomics”. Dr. Hosseini presented his lecture on “Systems Biology Analysis of Root Tips: Towards Bioengineering of Rice Root Structure to Enhance Drought Stress Tolerance”.

HUPO 2019 focused on “Advancing Global Health Through Proteome Innovation” and brought together world-leading experts and the next generation of early career scientists to promote how proteomics is advancing our knowledge of human and planetary health. The Australasian Proteomics Society (APS) designed a program for HUPO 2019 in Adelaide with plenary lectures from outstanding speakers and over 30 parallel sessions - including 6 HPP sessions, the 2nd Australasian Glycoscience Symposium, Plant and Food Proteomics sessions. Other Themes included Health and Disease, Biological Applications of The Proteome, Beyond the Proteome, Our Human Environment, Enabling Technologies.
